What is ecotourism?

Ecotourism is considered by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) as an essential component of the concept of "sustainable tourism." Its objective is to minimize environmental impact in order to preserve it in the long term. However, ecotourism distinguishes itself by emphasizing the discovery of ecosystems and actively involving local communities and tourists in biodiversity conservation. This type of tourism takes place in nature, in small groups, and within human-scale establishments.

Cévennes Ecotourism

Cévennes Ecotourism is an association of professionals residing in the Cévennes National Park. They are collectively committed to promoting quality tourism while respecting the natural and cultural environment of the region.

Cévennes ecotourism is a dynamic network made up of one hundred passionate women and men. Whether they are accommodation providers offering pleasant nights, restaurateurs awakening taste buds, guides exploring new horizons or artists arousing emotions, all are deeply linked to their territory and share the fundamental values of hospitality, preservation and sharing.

Founded in 2001, the Cévennes Ecotourism Association aims to bring together tourism stakeholders within a remarkable territory, namely the Cévennes National Park. Its objective is to promote a supportive and responsible approach to tourism, while encouraging sustainable development.
