A day underground

During your vacation, you will experience moments of
discoveries, experiences rich in emotions.
Here is a sample, memories of moments lived
in the Southern Cévennes…

“I’ve been a seasonal worker since 2011, a kayak instructor on the Hérault river in the summer and a ski patroller in the Alps in the winter. I did my first caving trip at the age of 17 when I was a camp counselor in Cazhilac. It was a mix between via ferrata and caving in the heart of the Gorges, 5 minutes from Saint Bauzille de Putois.”
My best memory is of the Rabanel Abyss, near Coupiac. It's 150 meters deep, culminating in a 60-meter "spider's thread" rappel and a beautiful walk through a series of large chambers. The trip was with a friend who's a caving guide and lasted almost 6 hours. As for the others, I don't really remember their names, but many of them are very beautiful and accessible.

What I like about caving is the adventure aspect, the rope handling and the adrenaline rush you get when descending into unknown environments that can only be seen underground.
The beauty of the geological formations, created by the region's limestone. And despite the caves' dark atmosphere, beautiful colors can be seen.
