Presentation

A beautiful high-altitude hike to discover the Aigoual state forest, Mont Aigoual, and its splendid panorama. An easy hike that allows you to reach the summit gently.

The Dauphine Trail is a high-altitude hike starting from the Col de la Serreyrède at 1299m and culminating at the summit of Mont Aigoual at 1567m. Magnificent views abound, of course, overlooking the Hérault and Dauphine valleys and the superb Mont Aigoual state forest (thanks again and again to Georges Fabre and Charles Flahaut!). The summit is well worth a long stop, with its 360° panorama and the unmissable weather exhibit. The descent passes by the Alti-Aigoual station at Prat Peyrot. Keep your eyes peeled; you'll come across Land Art installations along the "Balcons de l'Aigoual" trail.
