Presentation

All the Cévennes in one museum! The collection of 10 objects provides insight into life here. The renovated spinning mill allows visitors to imagine how silk was worked. This new museum of society is dedicated to the Cévennes of yesterday and today.

Why is the chestnut tree called the breadfruit tree and the mulberry tree the golden tree? Visit Maison Rouge and you'll find out the answers!
The museum offers an incredible collection of 10,000 exhibited objects, allowing visitors to understand the life, know-how and history of the Cévennes.
Man and the objects he has made are at the center of the discourse.
Like a legacy, the memory of the spinning mill, the oldest to have innovated and the last in operation in France, is enhanced by a deliberately contemporary renovation and extension.

Throughout the summer, the museum offers shows on Thursdays at 18pm, treasure hunts on Fridays and multiple tours.

Note that you can download the Maison Rouge app from the museum's website to visit independently in English, Dutch or German.

Guided tour of the collections on the last Sunday of the month.
