Between the Thaurac massif and the Cagnasses mountain, along the departmental road heading towards Nîmes, lies the village of Moulès-et-Baucels.
Surrounded by scrubland vegetation typical of the garrigue and limestone soil, the town's name is also closely linked to the natural elements: Moulès is derived from the Occitan word "mol," meaning "soft" and describing the terrain as loose and muddy. The name Baucels refers to the concept of "escarpment," meaning rock.
