Immerse yourself in art and nature at Mont Aigoual! This circuit reveals regularly updated installations inspired by nature and the landscapes of Mont Aigoual. A total of 12 artworks are installed along an 8km loop.
Land art trail "The Balconies of Aigoual"
Here, artists explore the relationship between humans and nature, and the confrontation with the climatic phenomena of Mont Aigoual. The artworks are therefore constantly evolving. Art integrated into nature returns to an essential source of artistic creation: observation and inspiration from nature. This route allows visitors to traverse different atmospheres and locations, suggesting to each individual a sensitive and intimate connection with nature.
2024 edition: three new works on the route: "Folies" by Elodie Cabos, "Rideau de pluie" by Yoann Crépin and "Regards" by Matthew Burton.

Mountain bike access: possible
Access for people with reduced mobility: possible on the ascent, from Prat-Peyrot to Mont-Aigoual. The descent is via the GR6, access to which is limited to hikers.

Access is prohibited on the discovery trail when it is snow-covered.

The walk to the summit of Mont Aigoual extends to the Hort de Dieu arboretum, featuring the artwork "With My Eyes" by France-Lan Lê Vu, in Trèves, Lanuéjols, and Saumane—villages that also offer iconic Cévennes landscapes. All these artworks are accessible via hiking trails or beautiful cycling routes.
"The Balconies of Aigoual in Trèves": two works are offered to you on the pretty village of Trèves, on the banks of the "Trèvezel" river: "Ondulations" by Céline Pialot and "Mirage, between dog and wolf" by Sandrine Le Maguer; a work on the Commune of Lanuéjols "Onde" by Jeanne Bourrat and a work on the village of Saumane "Refuges" by Steven Onghena.
