Happiness Valley Trail

Come and discover the village of Camprieu, the ruins of the Abbey of Bonheur, the 18th century forest, and go up the Bonheur valley, a small river which disappears further downstream to reappear through the Bramabiau Abyss.

Discovery trail
Saint-Sauveur-Camprieu, a village situated at an altitude of over 1100m, lies on the border between the limestone plateau of the Causse Noir and the granite massif of Mont Aigoual, and is the starting point for this pleasant hike. Don't miss the magnificent site where the ruins of the Bonahuc monastery, now known as Notre Dame de Bonheur Abbey, still stand. The granite valley is also a drovers' road, and a flock of sheep grazes there during the summer. The return journey takes us through the reforested slopes of Mont Aigoual.

Animals must be kept on a leash. The shepherd lives in the farmhouse known as "baraque neuve" from June until the end of October, so you may encounter the guard dogs.
