Museum Overview

L'Estréchure is the first "street village" of the Vallée Borgne, offering passers-by its houses joined on either side of the road, typical in the Cévennes region.
Come and drink from the fountain! The water is so fresh!

The village of Estréchure is a small town where the houses were built on both sides of the road; it is said to be a "street village".
Like all the villages in the valley, the inhabitants developed sericulture. Two silk mills with a history.
Explore this unique heritage and the history of the working class. Don't leave without drinking from the fountain; the spring's source is on the other side of the mountain, at the foot of Fageas or Mont Liron. (Water not tested)

On the road to Lasalle, there is an old village, St Martin de Corconac. It was once a larger village, but today it is just a hamlet.
Visit the Church of St Martin and admire the castle from afar (private).
