Welcome to the South Cévennes, a land of geological and climatic contrasts, authentic heritage and culture, artisanal know-how and gourmet delights…
Between sea and mountains, limestone plateaus and schist valleys, granite massifs and windswept garrigue… between the Cirque de Navacelles, Mont Aigoual and the Gorges de l'Hérault, the South Cévennes is a kingdom of serenity with an incomparable abundance of natural riches.
The multi-award-winning South Cévennes region is part of the Cévennes National Park , the only mid-mountain national park and one of the few inhabited national parks, which is also the largest International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe. The destination also includes the Causses and Cévennes plateaus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for their cultural landscapes of Mediterranean agro-pastoralism, the exceptional Aigoual forest, and two Grands Sites de France (Great Sites of France).
