The picturesque village of Aumessas, Village of Character in the Gard, will host around forty artists and craftsmen in places usually closed to the public on Saturday 14 from 14pm to 18pm and all day Sunday 15 November 2026 during the 19th edition of the Journées des Métiers d'Art.
From the vast spaces of the old rectory or the Charmilles manor to the more intimate spaces of private homes, visitors will discover numerous exhibition areas where materials are worked with artistry and nobility: ceramics, woodworking, ironwork, but also basketry, painting and sculpture…
These artisans will also be working in equally unusual locations such as the Manoir des Charmilles, the Maison Espagne, and other beautiful residences. They will share their passion for their craft and their expertise with you through demonstrations.
The artisans will share their passion for their craft and demonstrate their unique skills, allowing visitors to appreciate handcrafted creations in a new light. Visitors will be able to witness chainsaw carving demonstrations, explore the subtle details of Japanese embroidery and bobbin lace, and appreciate the art of woodturning. These live demonstrations will immerse visitors in the heart of the creative process, offering a profound understanding of passionate and artisanal work.
