The first mention of the Chapel dates from 1080. Dominating the Hérault, in a wild setting, it forms a beautiful ensemble, with the cemetery enclosure, the remains of the priory and a building which would have served as a place of welcome for pilgrims.
The first mention of the Chapel dates back to 1080 under the name Exalchiato. Formerly a parish church, it served about ten surrounding farmhouses. Overlooking the Hérault River in a wild setting, it forms a beautiful ensemble, including the cemetery enclosure, the remains of the priory, and a building that may have served as a hostel for pilgrims. It has been listed as a Historical Monument since 1945.
The interior of the chapel is not accessible to the public.
