Presentation

This walk will transport you into the history of the castles that stand out on the horizon and you will admire this string of blue mountains that descend to the sea.

A few breaks in the clouds will allow you to glimpse Mont Aigoual and Mont Lozère in the distance.

One of many stories from the Soudorgues region. The legend of the Peyre Tower tells of Blanche of Castile's visit to this place, where she offered a gold ring in gratitude for her hospitality... This treasure still awaits, supposedly hidden in a gallery that once connected the tower to the castle... Meanwhile, this tower is said to date back to the 10th century. Was it a signal tower? A watchtower? A tower of an old castle...?

This walk is a beautiful journey through the history of the Pays de Soudorgues, a strategic passage to the continental Cévennes. Here, freedom of faith, like freedom of country, was ardently defended in a generous and protective natural environment.
