Presentation
Its real name is Cascade de la Meuse, but the Vis waterfall is an artificial waterfall where the Vis river flows.
In the past, the aqueduct allowed water to be carried from one side of the river to the other in order to irrigate the meadows and to turn the 20 wheels for all the paper, copper, fulling mills…
The waterfall parking lot, near the swimming area, will be closed throughout the season, from June 24th until the beginning of September.
A 150-space paid parking lot will be available 600 meters from the site, towards the village, with a flat daily rate of €10, payable by credit card or cash. This parking lot will provide easy access to the village for walkers and hikers. Access to the waterfall will be on foot, with public restrooms along the way. To ensure smooth traffic flow within the municipality and the safety of all, parking outside the designated area is strictly prohibited. Public safety officers will conduct regular checks to enforce these regulations.
We advise visitors to arrive early in the morning – when the car park is full, it will no longer be possible to park.
The site presents hazards, which are posted for the information of visitors. Swimming is permitted but unsupervised and at the visitors' own risk. It is forbidden to approach the waterfall—on foot or by swimming—at its upper or lower levels. Jumping is prohibited throughout the site (including from the bridge). The site regulations and swimming regulations will be posted on site.
Access to the site will be prohibited at night (between 22:00 PM and 6:00 AM) to ensure the rest of the wildlife. The site is classified as a Natura 2000 area, a biodiversity hotspot that must be preserved.
