Presentation

The village, built at an altitude of 500 meters on a promontory above the confluence of the Salindrenque, sheltered on the north side by a ridge going from Fageas (1178 m) to Mont Brion (815 m), enjoys a very pleasant and favorable southern exposure.

Soudorgues is located in the southeast of the Cévennes mountains, 20 kilometers as the crow flies from Mont Aigoual. The highest point and source of the Salindrenque river, Soudorgues offers its vast open spaces to lovers of fresh air. Its numerous hamlets are scattered across 2500 hectares in a variety of landscapes characteristic of the Cévennes: terraced fields and terraced paths, dry-stone huts, chestnut and mulberry groves… 283 inhabitants live in the commune year-round.
