Presentation

Welcome to the heart of the sweet onion country, discover this sacred resource of Cévennes agriculture through the interpretive trail.

The Mandagout Valley is a traditional area for the cultivation of
The Sweet Onion of the Cévennes. You can admire typical hamlets (Beaulieu and Costubagues), storage basins allowing the irrigation of the ferries as well as irrigation canals called béal dug into the mountain sometimes to bring water from one slope to the other.
The commune of Mandagout is characterized by flat and deep terraces, facing South and South East, thus benefiting from a particularly interesting situation due to the natural ventilation of this valley.

Audio guide for the route is available via the Latitude Gard smartphone app, downloadable from the App Store and Google Play.
