Presentation

Discover an ecomuseum in a former mill featuring a fun exhibition for everyone. Children and adults alike can explore an indoor and outdoor trail to learn more about this essential element in our daily lives!

It is in the heart of the Vallée Borgne, in the village's old mill, that the Maison de l'Eau (Water House) has naturally found its home. Around this relic of the past, a modern and engaging exhibition presents water in the Cévennes. Monsieur Castor, the mascot, invites young and old alike to a more unusual visit combining questions, games, and experiments…

An interpretive trail is accessible and complements the visit with a presentation of some tree species native to the Cévennes. This fun walk for the whole family will take you on an encounter with the birds that migrate between the forest and the river. Equipped with binoculars and a bird tracker, you will follow the marked path to learn about bird observation and identification (also available for download from our website).

In addition to visits, the water house also offers environmental education sessions, nature outings (following the tracks of the beaver, the otter, the small people of the water…), walks, village visits, and more for schools, leisure centers and the general public.
Come stroll along the millrace, come and let yourself be lulled by the sound of the water on the mill wheels!

In the territory of Vallée Borgne there are 3 interpretive trails, one of which is located on the route of the Maison de l'Eau des Plantiers.
