A short, easy and pleasant trail in the heart of a beech forest, suitable for families.

The beech tree, thousands of years old and evergreen.
The beech tree has been established on the Aigoual for over 4000 years. Above a thousand meters, it appreciates the frequent fogs which ensure sufficient humidity, and the north-facing slopes which spare it the excessive heat of summer.

Starting point: Col de Montals (D 548). Please note, this road is closed during the winter. Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Walking shoes are recommended. Animals must be kept on a leash.

This trail is part of a network of forest paths and sites that allow visitors to discover the forest and wildlife of the Aigoual massif, in partnership with the French National Forestry Office (ONF).
