The Plantiers
The Mouflon Trail begins in a hollow of the Borgne Valley and climbs up to the drovers' road. It also retraces the course of history, evoking the life of remote hamlets as well as the era of the Second World War: the Cross of Lorraine at the Pas Pass
Mouflon Trail
The trail starts at the Faveyrolles car park, a hamlet below the Pas and Espinasse passes, a few kilometres from the village of Les Plantiers.
The gentle climb along this cobbled path from Racoule will take you to the Col de l'Espinasse. The landscape will gradually open up as you ascend. Turn around, and the Asclier, a beautiful mountain shaped like a cat's ear, will be behind you...
And there, you will take the beautiful draille, a path used since time immemorial by men and sheep going up to summer pastures.
Then descend along this long and difficult path through the chestnut trees. And there you are, back in Faveyrolles.
