Presentation

The Rieutord is a left tributary river of the Hérault which originates in Saint-Martial, crossing the departments of Gard and Hérault.

The Rieutord River rises in the Gard department, at Saint-Martial, more precisely in the Liron mountain range. The river receives water from the Elbès, one of its tributaries, then flows through Saint-Roman-de-Codières, and then Sumène, where it receives its main tributary, the Recodier. It then disappears underground before resurfacing at Ganges, in the Hérault department, where it joins the Hérault River. The Rieutord is 26,3 km long.
