Presentation

The Séranne mountain range is a natural barrier, rising to between 700 and 942 meters, culminating at the Roc Blanc. It is crisscrossed by ancient paths used by shepherds and their flocks. This mountain is the last barrier before the Causse du Larzac plateau.

Formed 145 million years ago, the Séranne massif is a striking limestone massif, its imposing silhouette clearly visible. Stretching nearly 25 km, this limestone barrier reaches its highest point at Roc Blanc, at 942 m altitude. With its cirque, ledges, and soaring peaks, the Séranne mountain is a defining feature of the Languedoc landscape. This arid landscape, characteristic of the Mediterranean climate, offers a vast expanse untouched by human activity. The low-lying vegetation consists primarily of garrigue, including boxwood and holm oak.
