The fourth season of reserved mountain passes in the South Cévennes is underway. Building on the success of the Col de la Lusette, the first reserved pass in the South Cévennes in 2023, as well as the last two seasons of reserved passes, 3 iconic passes on 8 dates will be reserved exclusively for cyclists in 2026, offering a unique opportunity to cycle through spectacular roads without the presence of motorized vehicles.

From 8 AM to 12 PM , explore these iconic passes of the Cévennes as you wish: muscle bikes, e-bikes, even roller skis or any other non-motorized device is welcome.
Rising to an altitude of 1351 m, the Col de la Lusette is one of the most iconic passes in the Cévennes. It will enter the history of the Tour de France during the 6th stage of the 2020 Tour, Le Theil – Mont Aigoual.
From Mandagout, you will have to cycle for 11.7 km with an average gradient of 7.3%, promising a sporty climb with sensational scenery over the peaks and valleys of the Cévennes.

O. OctoberThe Col de l'Asclier is located at the foot of the Fageas, which rises to 1179 m , in the Liron mountain, particularly recognizable when viewed from the north with its two symmetrical rocks that frame the summit.
The section closed to traffic runs from the Col de la Tribale to the Abric crossroads, with a total of five possible access points : Notre-Dame de la Rouvière, Peyregrosse, and Saint-Martial on one side, and Les Plantiers and L'Estréchure on the other. Popular with local cyclists, this section offers a 6.7 km climb from the Col de la Tribale with an average gradient of 4.3%.
On the heights of Sumène , joining the priory of Cézas and offering an exceptional panorama over the valley of the Rieutord and the Recodier, the Col du Lac is one of the passes very popular with local cyclists.
Between the Fage and Cagnasses mountains, the climb from Sumène is quite short, 6.60 km with an average gradient of 6.42%. After a well-deserved break, you can descend via La Cadière and Cambo to rejoin the new Ganges – Saint Hippolyte du Fort greenway. It is also possible to ascend from this side.
Thomas savedThe inauguration of the reserved mountain passes will take place on May 10, 2026, during the "7 Passes in the Cévennes" cycling event and will conclude on Sunday, August 23, at the Col de l'Asclier . Here are all the dates for 2026:

The mountain pass roads are reserved for cyclists from 8am to 12pm.
