Museum Overview
The GTMC-VTT, from Blandas to La Couvertoirade.
On this stage of the GTMC mountain bike route, the atmosphere is 100% Causses, at the crossroads of the Causses de Blandas, de Campestre, and the Larzac! The entry into Aveyron is via the Col de la Barrière and the village of Sauclières with its cobbled streets. The GTMC route then climbs towards the plateau along a former railway line.
You enter the Larzac plateau, in the heart of the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park, whose landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The route passes by the Puech du Bassel (916m) and its 360° panoramic viewpoint. Finally, you arrive at La Couvertoirade, a Templar and Hospitaller site, listed among the most beautiful villages in France.
Pet Friendly : Yes
Details concerning animals Although not recommended, some mountain bikers may travel with an animal. It will then be essential to transport the animal or keep it on a leash on sections of the route shared with motor vehicle traffic, as well as on trails where the presence of animals is regulated. On trails where the presence of animals is prohibited by law (particularly in National Parks), mountain bikers will need to find an alternative route via trails that do not regulate the presence of animals, or temporarily separate themselves from their animal on the affected sections.
